Sonia Kirkpatrick's journey began when her eldest daughter showed developmental delays, including motor-skill challenges, insensitivity to pain, inattentiveness, and difficulty with social interactions. After traveling thousands of miles and meeting numerous specialists, her daughter was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD, and Dyspraxia. This experience highlighted the fragmented process of evaluation and treatment, inspiring Sonia to create a better way.
Sonia envisioned a clinic where children could receive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in one collaborative location. Combining her personal experience with years of research, Sonia developed a multidisciplinary care model. While completing her MBA at the University of Dallas, she crafted a business plan for PediaPlex and opened the first location in Southlake, Texas, in 2012. Today, PediaPlex has expanded to include locations in Fort Worth and Frisco, Texas.
Drawing on her 20+ years in accounting and finance, Sonia applies operational excellence and strategic metrics to ensure PediaPlex delivers top-notch care. Her background includes leadership roles at companies like Nokia, where she honed skills in financial rigor and efficiency.
Sonia's dedication has earned her numerous accolades, including her induction into the University of Dallas Gupta College of Business Hall of Fame (2021) and recognition as the 2013 Distinguished Alumni of the Year. She actively serves on advisory boards for the University of Dallas, Parker University, and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History ASD Board.Her expertise has been featured on platforms like NBC Texas Today, Fox 4 News, and D Magazine.
