The Outgoing and Fun Steffanie

The Outgoing and Fun Steffanie

Meet the outgoing and fun Steffanie- a BCBA at our Frisco location! A BCBA is a board certified behavior analyst who works in our ABA Therapy department. In addition to being a BCBA, Steffanie is the Ongoing Performance Manager for PediaPlex.

About Steffanie

Steffanie is originally from Dayton, Ohio. She attended Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana (Go Fighting Irish and Belles!) and then for graduate school she attended Kaplan University where she received her master’s degree. Currently, she is attending Capella University where she is working on obtaining a doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

“Because I love helping people so much and I want to make sure my clients truly understand their diagnosis, I am obtaining my PsyD.!”

About Steffanie

When Steffanie isn’t working or studying you can find her around the Frisco and Dallas area trying out new food experiences. She loves food and so once a month she makes her family join her in trying new places around them!

A fun fact about Steffanie, and the reason why she is in the mental health and medical field, is because of her younger sister who was born with Sickle Cell Anemia. She says that her sister’s journey inspired her to follow this field. While her sister is still living with her condition, she closely observed the care that doctors provided to her while growing up and it inspired her to want to give that same excellent care to others. We are so proud of you, Steffanie, and love to see how this has shaped your life!

Steffanie’s Role at PediaPlex

Steffanie has worked at PediaPlex since August 2020 and began working at our Fort Worth clinic. Once our new Frisco location opened, she transferred there to help it open and run smoothly!  As the Ongoing Performance Manager at PediaPlex, Steffanie helps to train our new behavior technicians (BT) and registered behavior technicians (RBT) who are working with our clients. Her day to day can vary as her role wears multiple hats. You can find her doing supervision with her clients and behavior technicians or working with parents on how to implement their child’s plan of care into their home setting. Other days you might find her helping train our new BTs and RBTs.

Her favorite part about working at PediaPlex is being able to collaborate with her colleagues.  In her role she is able to collaborate with admin, speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavior therapists, and the BCBAs at all three clinics. “Teamwork is the key to being able to have a productive and efficient environment.”

Steffanie chose to work at PediaPlex because of the collaboration between ABA, speech, and occupational therapy. “I came from doing in-home and clinic-based ABA simultaneously where I was able to see the importance of having a multidisciplinary team for a client reaching their long-term and short-term goals.”

Thank you, Steffanie, for all of your hard work! You have done an amazing job and the Frisco location is lucky to have you!
